It started when Miss Nine wanted to enter the Weet-bix Kids Try-athalon.  So she started training.  Then since we were out there running around the field with her it made sense to have an adult goal.
So with only 4 weeks to train, and not having done any running for at least 2 decades, I ran the 6km Heart Foundation fun run part of City to Surf, finishing in 38 minutes.
(Unfortunately I had no one to take photos of me at the finish line, you'll just have to take my word for it.  These are the runners behind me.)

Testimony shared at Westside Church, Christchurch on 27 January 2013:
For the joy that was set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:1-3(NIVUK))
How have you persevered lately?
